When looking for a carpet cleaner, a common consideration is the length of time the carpet will take to dry after cleaning. Claims vary from, straight away to several hours.

The actual experience can be much longer. In some cases, it can take up to a week to dry completely. Apart from being inconvenient, a wet carpet can suffer complications & damage. Some of which can be corrected by a skilled carpet cleaner. When the correct method is used by a trained carpet cleaner, the carpet should be dry within 24hrs of cleaning to avoid problems. It is worth baring in mind that wool is so absorbent that it can retain 30% of its weight in water, while feeling dry to the human touch.

We don’t give precise drying times as it will vary depending on environment. Temperature, humidity, airflow & water retention of the carpet fibre will all have an influence. A carpet cleaning machine that is working correctly with powerful vacuum, used by a trained technician is also key.
